Alamos, Malbec Tasting

Name: Alamos

Variety: Malbec

Region: Mendoza

Country: Argentina

Year: 2021

Price: $12.00

Winery Review: According to "honest wine reviews.com" this wine is greatly recommended! It is said to have well balanced flavor, tannins and long lingering finish. Would go nicely with roasted or grilled meats. Interestingly, the specific region of where the grapes are harvested is exposed to cooler nights and more intense sunlight which is thought to enhance the aromas!

Personal Review: This is my first experience trying a Malbec wine. After tasting the wine, I am indifferent on whether I like it or not. First taste gave hints of wood and chocolate with tart berries. It was extremely dry and was very hot going down the throat. It smelt like old fruit. According to wine folly, Malbec's primary flavors express red plum, blackberry, vanilla, sweet tobacco and cocoa. Medium tannins with a full body. Wine folly states that due to Malbec's having not as long of a finish, they are a great choice to pair with lean red meats! (sorry my wine folly book is supposed to come in 2 days so I am still using the online resource for now!) Would most likely purchase this wine again!
