Winery Review: According to vivino.com, this particular 2008 merlot received an overall rating of 3.1/5. It is categorized in. the bottom 1% of wines in the world. Most of the individuals who wrote a review stated that the wine was decent, nothing too special to it. Wine experts think that this norther Italy red wine would be very well paired with beef, pasta, lamb or game!

Personal Review: First impression of this wine was very poor. It was nothing like I have drank before. It did not have a good smell, it was overwhelming on the nostrils. If there could be one word to describe this wine it would be wood. It had hints of plum, blackberry, chocolate and very bitter. I am usually a fan of merlot, but this is by far my least favorite yet. According to wine folly, specifically on page 131, the descriptors of merlot include "cherry, plum, chocolate, dried herbs and vanilla." France is the most popular region growing merlot, whereas Italy comes in second. I am curious to see if this wine would have tasted better if it were decanted, specifically for 30 minutes according to wine folly (pg.131). Merlots tend to express very little sweetness, medium-high body, alcohol and tannin and medium acidity (pg.131). Would not buy this wine again!!
