Winery Review: According to the winery, "the thieves believe that a great Pinot Noir is a reward unto itself. To craft a wine that showcases the varietal's most beautiful qualities, the wine is gently fermented and infused with a touch of French and American oak to lend body and support to the bright cherry and berry flavors. For additional structure, a small amount of Syrah and Petite Verdot were included in the blend."
Personal Review: I usually gravitate towards Pinot, so I was excited to try this! The color was super dark and had a very powerful smell, not foul, just strong. Flavors were plummy and cherry like. It had a very bold finish, could not take big sips or else it would be too overpowering on the palate. I think that this wine would be great paired with a dish of pasta or some red meat. I like the price and how there is nothing too crazy going on with the flavors! According to Wine Folly, specifically page 57 (the taste chart), since this wine was more on the bitter side, it would pair best with salty foods! For instance, a steak rubbed in salt. However, this wine would not pair well with acidic or piquant foods. I will likely buy this wine again!
